The Irish Legacy bookThe Irish Legacy: A History of the Irish in Western Massachusetts is the first in The Republican’s new hardcover Heritage series. This hardcover book features the story of the Irish immigrants in this area – a people who fled hunger and oppression, helped build the railroads, labored at the Springfield Armory, fought by the thousands in the Civil War and helped create a nation through public service. The Irish immigrants in Western Massachusetts have an incredibly rich history told in this book.

Authors of some of the articles include Kevin O’Hara, Jim Cahillane, Joan Morris Reilly, and Judith Kappenman.
