St. Brigid Cross Workshop
The Irish Cultural Center will host a St. Brigid’s Cross workshop on Thursday, January 26 from 4–7 pm. All ages are welcome! This is a great opportunity for adults and kids alike to make a craft that ties into Irish culture. The event will be held at the ICC’s Irish House Restaurant and Trinity Pub.
Educator Mary Ellen Russell and Fulbright Irish scholar Emer Maguire will guide participants through a session of making a traditional St. Brigid’s Cross with pipe cleaners. Emer will also share the story of how St. Brigid made the first cross in Dundalk, Ireland in about 450 AD, and her significance in Irish culture.
This event is free and open to the public. Participants will bring home their crosses. The Irish House Restaurant and Trinity Pub will be open with a light fare menu for purchase.
